Change normally happens gradually. But whether we’re talking about world politics or your buddy’s relationship with his girlfriend, sometimes change happens all at once. Steph Curry and Under Armor are examples of the latter phenomenon. Under Armor was a small company in Baltimore that seemed to explode into success overnight. Today they’re one of the fastest growing brand names in the world. In a similar way, Steph Curry has gone from near obscurity to household name in a single season, leading the Golden State Warriors to the NBA championship. Under Armor has teamed up with him to commemorate the occasion, with the new Curry Two Shoe.

For those who saw Curry’s performance, there’s no reason to wonder why. He averaged 29 points per game in the post season. People who saw the games remember perfect from behind the arc, precision with jump shots from any distance, and defense that garnered attention on its own. To say he’s a leader on the court is to put it mildly, but things weren’t always expected to turn out this way. Though he was a scoring leader at Davidson, most analysts and commentators opined that young Curry didn’t have what it takes to succeed in the NBA. Too short, too scrawny, “the people in the know” didn’t give him good odds. Today Curry is laughing all the way to the bank, and you can get a piece of his action with the new Curry Two Shoe.
